7. What are the advantages for the homeowner if they own the appraisal report?

People often ask whether they as the homeowner can order an appraisal, or if the bank / lender needs to request the appraisal. As explained in Question 6, you may order a report from us directly. You have the right to own the report and have full control over it.

However, if you end up choosing to go to a diffeernt institution during the mortgage process, typically you then must start over with all new fees. However, if you own the report then you can go to a different lender and take the report with you.
